Welcome to Co-partners, a non-profit all-volunteer organization that supports self-help groups of rural girls and women (campesinas) in El Salvador and Guatemala.
Recently, some of our members traveled to Guatemala to meet with our co-partners. Pictured above are Michelle, Caterina, Ana, and Julia. Michelle, Julia, and Claire (not pictured) brought advice, small loans, and computers to support the local women's efforts to improve their lives and the lives of their families.

Co-partners’ approach :
Co-partners organizes or supports a group organized by other volunteers.
As soon as practical, groups elect officers who begin to assume organizational responsibilities. The role of the co-partners shifts gradually from teacher to coach.
Group members identify skills or projects they believe important for improving their lives and proceed with the assistance of co-partners.

Mission:
To partner with organizations of rural women in developing counties in Central America, in particular El Salvador and Guatemala who are trying to make better lives for themselves and their families.
Members of Co-partners contribute time, money, and in-kind donations to support women’s groups in areas where standards of living are much lower than ours.
Each year U.S. Co-partners visit each group, consult with them in how to make their organizations and programs more successful.
Bags of school supplies costing about $5 motivate families to send to school children who without this assistance might not have the opportunity to go to school.
Classes in income-generating skills enable women to increase family income and provide their children with improved nutrition or health care.
Small scholarships enable children to stay in school longer.
